Please note, we are currently experiencing a few issues with our coaches register. We hope to have this resolved very soon. In the meantime can all coaches please ensure certificates, such as First Aid, Child Protection, etc., are up-to-date and uploaded to your Member record. Thank you for your patience.
This is a Scottish specific register that includes coaching qualifications across the entire spectrum of the equestrian industry.
To make this as meaningful and easy to use as possible you can search by qualification, level of qualification (some of these are Assistant Level only), regions, specialist interest and coaching environments individually or any combination of these.
horsescotland are providing this service for coaches and those looking for a coach.
This register is updated on a daily basis and anyone who has an expired first aid, safeguarding & protecting children qualification or insurance will be removed each day. When we receive proof these have been updated these coaches will be added to the register again. You can see these expiry dates within the full coach details section.
All UKCC Level 1 or equivalent coaches are only qualified as Assistant Coaches, meaning they should not be coaching a session on their own, without the supervision of a UKCC Level 2 or equivalent and above coach. In the majority of cases, UKCC Level 1 or equivalent coaches will not have their own individual insurance, they may be covered under the venue, the senior coach or the discipline i.e. Pony Club insurance. If booking with a UKCC Level 1 or equivalent please confirm insurance with the individual.
The regions identified are where the coach has indicated they are willing to travel to coach.
If you are looking for a coach for a specific interest you can utilise the ‘Specialist Interest’ drop down list. This list is generated by the coaches identifying their own specialisms.
If a coach is being employed to work with Under 18s or Adults at Risk they are required to have a PVG Scheme Membership/ Update. It is whoever is employing the coach’s legal responsibility not to employ anyone who is barred from the PVG Scheme. For more information on how to obtain a PVG Scheme Membership/ Update for a coach you may wish to employ please see our PVG webpages.
